Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a once-weekly injectable medication developed by Eli Lilly. It works by mimicking two hormones — GLP-1 and GIP — that help regulate blood sugar, reduce appetite, and support weight loss. While currently approved for Type 2 diabetes, Mounjaro is widely used off-label for weight management, especially among people who haven't responded well to Ozempic or Wegovy.
It comes in multiple dosing levels, ranging from 2.5mg to 15mg, delivered through a single-use injection pen.
Availability of Mounjaro in Thailand
Mounjaro is available in Thailand, though access is still somewhat limited due to high global demand. It’s most reliably found in major cities like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, usually through larger hospitals and select specialty pharmacies.
Unlike Ozempic and Wegovy, Mounjaro is newer to the Thai market and not as widely stocked. You typically don’t need a prescription to purchase it at pharmacies in Thailand, but due to its potency and potential side effects, we strongly recommend consulting a doctor first and getting routine follow-up care.
While some online vendors advertise Mounjaro in Thailand, be cautious. Because this medication requires careful storage and is in high demand, the risk of counterfeit or mishandled products is real. If you do purchase online, make sure it's from a licensed, hospital-affiliated provider or pharmacy with cold-chain shipping protocols in place.
Both Mounjaro and Ozempic help manage blood sugar and reduce weight, but Mounjaro uses a unique dual-hormone mechanism (GLP-1 + GIP), while Ozempic uses just GLP-1.
In clinical trials, Mounjaro led to significantly more weight loss and better glycemic control than semaglutide-based options like Ozempic and Wegovy. That said, it may also cause more side effects such as nausea and fatigue, especially at higher doses.
Alternatives to Mounjaro in Thailand
If Mounjaro is unavailable or unsuitable, several other GLP-1 medications and treatments are accessible in Thailand:
Mounjaro is priced slightly higher than Ozempic or Wegovy in Thailand due to supply constraints and newer market entry. A typical one-month supply (depending on dose) costs around ฿11,000 to ฿15,000 ($310–$420 USD). Larger hospitals may charge more, but they also provide the benefit of proper storage, medical guidance, and post-treatment support.
Prices in Thailand are considerably more affordable than in Western countries, where Mounjaro can cost upwards of $1,000 per month.

Many thanks to Konkai. After an online inquiry Konkai guided me to Praram9 orthopedic for a consultation on a hip injury. I had the consultation, clearly a femeral head collapse and needing the hip joint replacement. The beauty was in a half day full consultation, x-ray, ekg, blood work, chest exam ... everything needed to proceed with surgery was done.
This was so professionally and efficiently done, all questions answered, no consultants, no referrals etc., all in house, all guided around the hospital. A friendly caring class act. So I then came back to Konkai to setup for the operation, with the same orthopedic team led by Dr. Peerapong that made the assessment. I returned 2 weeks later, admitted, had the replacement operation stayed 5 days with the hospital team, and quite frankly, it was a privilege to be in their care.
Now after 10 days recovery in Bangkok i am ready to return home. Why Thailand, well in my country New Zealand, you get passed around to specialists, consultants, it all takes time, does not engender trust, and i think the profit motive is primary like the American system. Further, there are less facilities so more waiting for slots. Thailand has a care culture, and the expertise and professionalism with Konkai and Praram9 is superb. They have top quality facilities and capacity to fit your schedule.
