TRSC International Eye and Vision Center is Thailand's first private LASIK center, founded in 1997 in Bangkok. Its ophthalmologists have treated more than 102,000 eyes with LASIK and ReLEx, at a published success rate above 99.6% for vision of 20/40 or better. TRSC was the first LASIK centre in Asia to be awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification, and was named Thailand SMILE Ambassador Center 2023 by Carl Zeiss Meditec.
TRSC International Eye and Vision Center was founded in 1997 by Dr. Ekktet Chansue and Wanida Chansue as Thailand's first private facility dedicated exclusively to vision correction. It sits on the 6th floor of the U Chu Liang Building on Rama IV Road in central Bangkok, next to Lumphini Park, and employs 142 specialist staff. A second location, TRSC Family Eye and Vision Clinic, opened at Mega Bangna in 2024.
TRSC was the first in Thailand to introduce both LASIK and ReLEx SMILE. Its ophthalmologists have treated more than 102,000 eyes with laser vision correction, at a published success rate above 99.6% measured as 20/40 vision or better.
The centre is organised into five clinics: Refractive and ICL Surgery, PresbyVision, Senior Vision and Cataract, Eye Wellness, and Retina and Diabetic Eye Disease. Procedures are performed as day cases — there is no inpatient ward, and patients return to their hotel the same day. For cataract surgery TRSC operates one eye at a time, allowing the first eye to stabilise before the second.
TRSC was the first LASIK centre in Asia to receive ISO 9001:2015 certification, and states it is the only LASIK centre in Thailand recognised by Superbrands. In 2001 Bausch & Lomb named it Partner of the Year for pioneering Super Zyoptix LASIK in Asia.
In 2010 Carl Zeiss Meditec appointed TRSC as a medical research centre for FemtoLASIK and ReLEx education. In 2023 Carl Zeiss Meditec awarded TRSC the ReLEx SMILE Top Contributor Award and named it Thailand SMILE Ambassador Center, recognising more than 25,000 eyes treated with ReLEx SMILE. TRSC has hosted over 500 visiting ophthalmologists from facilities worldwide.
In 2025 STAAR Surgical awarded TRSC the EVO ICL Legacy Partner Award, and awarded Dr. Pichit Naripthaphan the Global ICL Award for Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Dr. Ekktet Chansue, Medical Director, completed his fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Washington University Eye Center in St. Louis and was the first ophthalmologist from Southeast Asia invited to join Project ORBIS International. He performed Thailand's first LASIK procedure.
Dr. Pichit Naripthaphan specialises in cornea and refractive surgery and is listed as President of the Cataract and Refractive Surgery Club of Thailand within the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He completed a research fellowship in Retina and Vitreous at USC Medical School and fellowship training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery under Dr. Jonathan Talamo in Boston.
TRSC names six cataract surgeons, led by Dr. Pichit and including Dr. Chonthicha Charumalai and Dr. Patchima Chantaren, both cornea and refractive specialists who also perform phacoemulsification. Dr. Praewpailin Kaimuk covers glaucoma.
TRSC uses the VisuMax 800 femtosecond laser from Carl Zeiss Meditec for Super ReLEx (SMILE Pro), with treatment completed in approximately 8 seconds per eye, alongside Carl Zeiss MEL 90 excimer lasers. For cataract surgery it uses the CENTURION Vision System with ACTIVE SENTRY handpiece from Alcon, with Alcon intraocular lenses across monofocal, toric, multifocal and extended-depth-of-focus ranges. Implantable collamer lenses are from STAAR Surgical.
Every patient is assigned a personal counsellor through the TRSC Personal Counselor Program, available 24 hours a day for questions before and after surgery. TRSC also works with six partner hotels near the centre in Silom, including Banyan Tree, SO Bangkok, Dusit Suites Ratchadamri and Bandara Suites Silom.
TRSC International Eye and Vision Center holds ISO 9001:2015 certification and was the first LASIK centre in Asia to be awarded it. It operates under Thai health authority licence no. ฆสพ.สบส 4948/2568.
Consultations at TRSC are conducted in Thai and English, and the centre publishes its fees, procedures and doctor profiles in both.
TRSC accepts cash, major credit cards and bank transfer.
Laser vision correction is sold as packages — TRSC Vision Care Plus, Superior Vision Care and Ultimate Vision Care — each including the surgery, five follow-up examinations, a 24-hour personal counsellor and TRSC's Lifelong Vision Support Program. Cataract surgery is priced per eye by lens type. Both require a pre-operative examination, charged separately.
TRSC's fees include the doctor's fee and exclude non-standard medications and supplies. Konkai Health can request a written quote before you travel.

TRSC is located in central Bangkok next to Lumphini Park on Rama IV Road. The nearest BTS Skytrain station is Sala Daeng, and MRT stations Si Lom and Lumphini are both approximately 500 meters away (about 7 minutes walking). Taxis from Suvarnabhumi Airport cost approximately 350-450 THB and take 45-60 minutes depending on traffic. The clinic is on the 6th floor of the U Chu Liang Building.
TRSC International Eye and Vision Center is a specialist eye centre in Bangkok, organised into five clinics: Refractive and ICL Surgery, PresbyVision, Senior Vision and Cataract, Eye Wellness, and Retina and Diabetic Eye Disease.
Its best-known work is laser vision correction — TRSC was the first in Thailand to introduce both LASIK and ReLEx SMILE — alongside Super ReLEx (SMILE Pro), FemtoLASIK, PRK, Presbyond for age-related reading vision, and implantable collamer lenses. The Senior Vision and Cataract Center performs phacoemulsification with monofocal, toric, multifocal and extended-depth-of-focus intraocular lenses.
Konkai Health can help identify the right procedure for your eyes and coordinate your consultation and treatment at TRSC.
Yes. TRSC treats international patients regularly and publishes its fees, procedures and doctor profiles in English.
Every patient is assigned a personal counsellor through TRSC's Personal Counselor Program, available 24 hours a day for questions before and after surgery. TRSC also works with six partner hotels near the centre in Silom.
How long you need in Bangkok depends on the procedure. Laser vision correction can usually be completed in a few days — pre-operative examination, surgery, and the first follow-up. Cataract surgery takes considerably longer, because the intraocular lens is ordered after your examination and TRSC operates one eye at a time, allowing the first to stabilise before the second.
Konkai Health will confirm the timeline for your procedure before you book flights, arrange scheduling and communication with the surgical team, and answer your questions before you arrive.
The quickest way is our TRSC booking form. It collects what the centre needs to open your file and match you to the right specialist, so we can go straight to confirming a date. You can also reach us through our contact form, by email or on WhatsApp if you would rather talk it through first.
A complete pre-operative examination is required before any surgery — 3,500 THB for laser vision correction, 4,500 THB for cataract surgery. It establishes which procedures you are a candidate for, and the ophthalmologist confirms the recommendation at the end.
For laser vision correction, surgery can often follow within a day or two of the assessment. Cataract surgery needs longer: the intraocular lens is ordered after your examination, and the eyes are operated on one at a time.
Konkai Health can request quotes, coordinate your appointment schedule and manage communication with TRSC's medical team.
TRSC publishes its examination and surgical fees openly. Current prices in Thai Baht:
Laser vision correction, both eyes
Each package includes the surgery, five follow-up examinations, a 24-hour personal counsellor and TRSC's Lifelong Vision Support Program. The pre-operative examination is 3,500 THB and charged separately.
Cataract surgery, per eye
The pre-operative examination for cataract surgery is 4,500 THB. Implantable collamer lens surgery is priced per eye and quoted after examination.
TRSC's fees include the doctor's fee, which is not always the case elsewhere, and exclude non-standard medications and supplies. Konkai Health can obtain a written quote based on your examination results before you travel.
Follow-up examinations are included in TRSC's surgical packages. Laser vision correction packages include five; at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 1 year. PRK includes ten, reflecting its longer surface healing. Cataract surgery includes five follow-up examinations.
Patients are given medication, protective eyewear and written aftercare instructions, and every patient has a personal counsellor available 24 hours a day.
International patients normally complete the first one or two follow-ups before flying home. Konkai Health coordinates your treatment timeline, explains what recovery and travel restrictions to expect, and remains your point of contact for questions or follow-up arrangements after you return home.
