Samitivej Children's Hospital

Samitivej Children's Hospital was Thailand's first private hospital dedicated to children. It operates as one pediatric hospital across two Bangkok campuses, one inside Samitivej Sukhumvit on Sukhumvit Soi 49 and one inside Samitivej Srinakarin in eastern Bangkok. Both run under the Samitivej group and the wider BDMS network.

More than 150 pediatric specialists work across the two campuses, covering care from the newborn period through adolescence. Both sites are equipped with Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) for infants and children who need critical care.

Pediatric Surgery

The children's surgical program focuses on three areas where children's needs differ most from adults: the brain, the heart, and the urinary tract. That covers pediatric neurosurgery, congenital and acquired heart conditions, and urological surgery for children.

Center of Excellence

Within BDMS, the pediatrics program at the Samitivej Srinakarin campus is designated a Center of Excellence, the network's mark for departments meeting global standards in patient care, research, and academic affiliation.

Samitivej as a group was the first hospital in Thailand recognized by WHO and UNICEF as a Mother and Baby Friendly Hospital, in 1999. Its Childhood Asthma Program later earned a JCI Certificate of Distinction for seven consecutive years through 2018.

Choosing a Campus

For most families the choice of campus comes down to location and the specific specialist. The Sukhumvit campus sits in central Bangkok near Thong Lor, convenient to the city's main hotel districts. The Srinakarin campus is in eastern Bangkok, closer to Suvarnabhumi Airport and home to the pediatric Center of Excellence.
