Coronary angioplasty is a minimally invasive procedure aimed at improving blood flow to your heart by widening blocked or narrowed coronary arteries. This intervention becomes necessary in the presence of coronary artery disease, which, if untreated, can lead to serious health complications such as heart attack or stroke.

Coronary angioplasty involves the use of a tiny balloon, and often a stent, to open up the arteries and enhance blood flow. Performed by expert interventional cardiologists, the procedure offers a new lease on life to patients suffering from heart disease.

Choosing Thailand as your medical destination means benefitting from exceptional medical care at a fraction of the cost compared to Western countries. Paired with the warmth and hospitality Thailand is known for, your journey to improved heart health promises to be as smooth as possible.

What is Coronary Angioplasty?

Coronary angioplasty is a medical procedure that improves blood flow to the heart. This procedure is typically recommended for patients suffering from coronary artery disease, where plaque build-up in the arteries restricts blood flow. In coronary angioplasty, a small balloon is inflated to widen the narrowed or blocked artery, and often a stent is placed to keep the artery open. This differs from atherectomy where a shaver or laser removes the plague build-up in the arteries. Opting for coronary angioplasty in Thailand, you'll find yourself in the skilled hands of renowned interventional cardiologists utilizing state-of-the-art technology.

Preparing for Coronary Angioplasty

Prior to coronary angioplasty, patients will undergo detailed medical assessments, including stress tests, EKGs, and imaging studies, to gauge the extent of coronary artery disease. It's important to have a comprehensive discussion with your cardiologist about your medical history and the potential risks and benefits of the procedure. Thailand, as your medical destination, ensures a thorough and personalized pre-procedure assessment, with a strong emphasis on patient education and comfort.

The Angioplasty and Recovery Process

Coronary angioplasty is a minimally invasive procedure typically lasting 1-2 hours. Post-procedure, patients are monitored closely and can often leave the hospital within a day or two. Aftercare involves medication, lifestyle changes, and cardiac rehabilitation. When undergoing coronary angioplasty in Thailand, patients can look forward to world-class medical facilities, a holistic recovery environment, and a healthcare system that prioritizes patient welfare and satisfaction.

The Costs of the Procedure

While cost is an important consideration, the quality of care should be paramount. Thailand presents a cost-effective solution, providing world-class healthcare services at a price significantly lower than many Western countries.

The cost for a coronary angioplasty in Thailand typically ranges from approximately USD 3,500 to USD 7,500.

However, the exact cost of coronary angioplasty can vary depending on the specifics of the patient's condition, the type of stent used, and the hospital's fees. Choose coronary angioplasty in Thailand for a combination of affordability, high-quality care, and a nurturing recovery environment.

We are so pleased with the level of service from Pam in helping us organise a surgery for my husband which took place in Thailand.

We had to change a few appointments here and there (life happened on our end) and Pam was all too willing to help with no problems.

Emergency operation and post-surgery checkup

"I live in New Zealand, and my partner and I went on a holiday in Laos (Asia). I became sick and needed an emergency stomach operation. I reached out to this company, and they have been nothing but helpful.

They helped us with translating in Laos; they organised a taxi driver who was waiting for us at arrival and drove us to the hospital, where they organised a scan for me. I only needed to show my passport and an email when I arrived. I was already in the system for the appointment.

Everything went really smoothly. The company is professional and reliable, and the staff is super friendly too. I would highly recommend this company. I am grateful for the great service this company offered when I was in need."
