Breast lift surgery, or mastopexy, raises and reshapes sagging breasts by removing excess skin and tightening surrounding tissue. The result is a firmer, more youthful breast profile without the need for implants.

Thailand offers skilled plastic surgeons performing thousands of breast lifts annually in modern facilities at a fraction of Western costs. With prices starting around $2,600 compared to $8,000+ in the US, you can combine quality cosmetic care with a memorable trip to one of Asia's most popular destinations.

This guide covers everything you need to know about getting a breast lift in Thailand, from hospital-by-hospital pricing to surgeon credentials, surgical techniques, and planning your medical trip.

What Is Breast Lift Surgery?

A breast lift addresses the natural sagging that occurs when skin loses elasticity over time. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes, and aging all contribute to breast ptosis (drooping), where breasts lose their youthful position and the nipples point downward.

During mastopexy, your surgeon removes excess skin, repositions the nipple and areola to a higher location, and tightens the remaining breast tissue. This creates a lifted, more youthful contour. The procedure reshapes what you have rather than adding volume. If you want both lift and size enhancement, your surgeon may recommend combining the procedure with breast augmentation.

Good candidates typically have breasts that sag or droop, nipples pointing downward or sitting below the breast crease, stretched areolas, and loss of breast firmness. The procedure works best when you're at a stable weight and have realistic expectations about the results.

What Affects the Final Price

  1. Hospital tier and positioning create the most significant price differences. High-volume hospitals like Yanhee offer competitive pricing through efficiency and scale, while specialized surgical centers like Rattinan charge premium rates reflecting focused expertise and boutique service. Both approaches deliver quality results - the choice depends on your budget and preferences.
  2. The technique required determines cost within each hospital. Mild sagging needs only peri-areolar incisions with minimal skin removal, keeping prices at the lower end. Severe ptosis requires extensive reshaping with inverted T-scars, more surgical time, and typically a longer hospital stay.
  3. Breast size matters too. Larger, heavier breasts require more surgical time and may need additional nipple repositioning, both of which increase the final cost.
  4. Combining procedures affects pricing. If you add breast lift to augmentation or have revision surgery, expect combined procedure pricing rather than individual rates for each.
  5. Location plays a minor role. Hospitals in tourist destinations like Phuket may price slightly differently than Bangkok facilities, though the gap is usually small compared to other factors.

Please note that the prices provided are estimations and may vary based on various factors. Additionally, these prices do not include flights or accommodation.

Surgical Techniques for Breast Lift

Your surgeon selects the incision pattern based on how much lift you need and your breast characteristics. Each technique balances the amount of correction with resulting scar visibility.

  • Peri-areolar (Donut) Lift works for mild sagging where the nipple has dropped slightly but remains above the breast crease. The surgeon makes a circular incision around the areola, removes a donut-shaped section of skin, and closes the incision to lift the breast. This leaves a scar only at the areola border, which typically heals well. The technique provides moderate lift without visible scarring on the breast itself.
  • Vertical (Lollipop) Lift addresses moderate sagging with incisions around the areola and straight down to the breast crease. This allows more skin removal and better reshaping than the peri-areolar technique alone. You'll have a scar around the areola and a vertical line down the breast, but no horizontal scar along the crease. Recovery is similar to the peri-areolar approach.
  • Inverted T (Anchor) Lift corrects severe sagging or very large breasts. The incisions form an anchor shape: around the areola, vertically down, and horizontally along the breast crease. This provides maximum lift and reshaping capability. While it creates the most extensive scarring, it's often the only technique that can achieve the desired result for significant ptosis. Scars fade over 12-18 months.
  • Crescent Lift involves a small incision along the upper half of the areola only. Surgeons rarely use this as a standalone procedure since it provides minimal lift. It's sometimes combined with breast augmentation when you need just slight nipple repositioning.

Your surgeon will evaluate your breast anatomy, degree of sagging, skin quality, and desired outcome during consultation. They'll photograph your breasts, take measurements, and show you which technique will achieve the best result for your specific situation.

Planning Your Breast Lift Trip to Thailand

A typical breast lift requires 10-12 days in Thailand, though some patients extend their stay to enjoy more recovery time in a relaxed setting.

Week One: Arrival and Surgery

Arrive 1-2 days before your scheduled procedure. Your initial day includes final consultation with your surgeon, medical photography, and signing consent forms. Hospitals require basic blood work or ECG if not done beforehand to ensure you are fit enough to undergo surgery.

Surgery day itself takes 2-4 hours depending on technique. You'll spend one night in the hospital for monitoring, with nurses checking on you regularly. Most patients feel groggy and sore but manage well with prescribed pain medication.

Days 2-5 post-surgery involve rest at your accommodation. You'll wear a surgical bra continuously and avoid raising your arms above shoulder height. Swelling peaks around day 3-4. You can shower carefully after drain removal (usually day 2-3), keeping incisions dry. Light walking is encouraged but nothing strenuous.

Week Two: Recovery and Follow-up

Around day 7-10, you'll return to the hospital for suture removal and a check of your healing progress. Your surgeon examines the incision sites, assesses symmetry, and confirms you're ready to travel. They'll provide detailed aftercare instructions and may prescribe antibiotics to take home.

Most patients feel comfortable flying home at this point. You'll still have swelling and some tenderness, but the acute recovery phase is complete. Wear your compression bra for the flight and avoid lifting heavy luggage.

Some patients prefer staying 14 days to have an additional follow-up before traveling. This gives extra peace of mind but isn't medically necessary for straightforward cases.

Combining Procedures

If you're considering adding other procedures like liposuction or facial work, discuss this during your consultation. Combining surgeries can save costs and recovery time, but it may extend your required stay in Thailand. Plan an extra 3-5 days for combined procedures.

Common Questions

How much does breast lift surgery cost in Thailand?

Arrow down

Breast lift costs range from $2,600 to $8,250 in Thailand depending on the hospital and surgical technique. High-volume facilities start around $2,600 for peri-areolar lifts, while specialized centers charge up to $8,250 for inverted T-scar procedures. Prices include surgery, anesthesia, and one-night hospital stay. For comparison, the same procedures cost $8,000-$15,000 in the US, £6,000-£10,000 in the UK, and $12,000-$18,000 AUD in Australia.

How long should I stay in Thailand for breast lift surgery?

Arrow down

Plan to stay 10-12 days in Thailand for a breast lift. You'll need 1-2 days before surgery for final consultation and medical clearance. Surgery takes place on day 3 with one overnight hospital stay. The following 7-8 days involve recovery at your accommodation with one or two follow-up appointments. Sutures come out around day 7-10. Most patients fly home after suture removal, though some prefer staying a bit longer for extra peace of mind. If combining procedures like liposuction or other body contouring, add 3-5 days to this timeline.

Can I combine breast lift with breast augmentation?

Arrow down

Yes, breast lift and augmentation are commonly combined in a single surgery. This addresses both sagging and loss of volume. The procedure takes 3-4 hours and requires one recovery period rather than two separate surgeries. Combined procedures typically cost $4,000-$7,000 in Thailand.

How long do breast lift results last?

Arrow down

Results typically last 10-15 years. Longevity depends on factors including weight stability, pregnancy, and natural aging. Significant weight fluctuations or pregnancy after surgery can affect results. Even with gradual changes over time, breasts remain higher than they would have been without surgery.

Is it safe to do Breast Lift Surgery in Thailand?

Arrow down

Hip Replacement & Health Check Up

Pam and Konkai Health were absolute rock stars in helping us find a fantastic surgeon for my boyfriend's hip replacement in Thailand. We had previously paid for a service to help us find a doctor and it was just throwing money away. The paid service was slow to respond and only offered us quotes for the most expensive hospitals.

Pam on the other hand was a completely free service and was always quick to reply, patient with all of our questions, and presented a variety of options in our price range. She made the entire process of finding a doctor, setting up video conferences, and scheduling the surgery extremely easy. She continued to help us even after the surgery had taken place with follow up visits and final questions we had before traveling back home. We cannot recommend her highly enough!!! We will definitely be using her again for our next surgical needs.

Hip Replacement

Many thanks to Konkai. After an online inquiry Konkai guided me to Praram9 orthopedic for a consultation on a hip injury.  I had the consultation, clearly a femeral head collapse and needing the hip joint replacement.  The beauty was in a half day full consultation, x-ray, ekg, blood work, chest exam ... everything needed to proceed with surgery was done.

This was so professionally and efficiently done, all questions answered, no consultants, no referrals etc., all in house, all guided around the hospital.  A friendly caring class act. So I then came back to Konkai to setup for the operation, with the same orthopedic team led by Dr. Peerapong that made the assessment.  I returned 2 weeks later, admitted, had the replacement operation stayed 5 days with the hospital team, and quite frankly, it was a privilege to be in their care.

Now after 10 days recovery in Bangkok i am ready to return home. Why Thailand, well in my country New Zealand, you get passed around to specialists, consultants, it all takes time, does not engender trust, and i think the profit motive is primary like the American system.  Further, there are less facilities so more waiting for slots. Thailand has a care culture, and the expertise and professionalism with Konkai and Praram9 is superb.  They have top quality facilities and capacity to fit your schedule.

If i ever need any major surgery, this will be my first stop.  Thanks again

Cosmetic Surgery

Outstanding. The most safe, amazing communication these past couple of months with Pam from Konkai health. I asked soooo many questions there must be around 80+ emails from me and every single one has been replied in full. Even now 2 weeks after surgery. Super professional, and the surgeon Dr Thawatchai Boonpadhanapong, at Yanhee Hospital that Pam recommended to me for a breast implant removal, were just incredible. No money deposits asked for…just pure care.

The service and systems at Yanhee were out the gate. I am so glad I travelled all that way and didn’t do it in New Zealand as I don’t think it would’ve been as good haha. I was so looked after by the amazing nurses, anaesthetist, Dr Thawatchai and my interpreter Mr Wing. It’s overwhelming looking for the right fit and if it wasn’t for Konkai Health and Pam I wouldn’t be feeling as happy as I am now 2 weeks after my surgery. I cannot thank you enough for what feels like a life transformation :)

Emergency operation and post-surgery checkup

"I live in New Zealand, and my partner and I went on a holiday in Laos (Asia). I became sick and needed an emergency stomach operation. I reached out to this company, and they have been nothing but helpful.

They helped us with translating in Laos; they organised a taxi driver who was waiting for us at arrival and drove us to the hospital, where they organised a scan for me. I only needed to show my passport and an email when I arrived. I was already in the system for the appointment.

Everything went really smoothly. The company is professional and reliable, and the staff is super friendly too. I would highly recommend this company. I am grateful for the great service this company offered when I was in need."

Was confused as to where to get good Medical Services in Thailand. This company was very responsive and helpful.

They directed me to a very reputable local Hospital where I was treated by a Doctor with great reviews.

Also, the cost for the procedure was very reasonable and a fraction of what it would cost me in the US.

I would highly recommend this company to others. 🙏♥️🙏
