Doctors and Expertise
Dr. Nattawut Wanumkarng is the clinic's founder and an oculofacial plastic surgeon with over 20 years of experience. He completed his medical degree and ophthalmology residency at Siriraj Hospital (Mahidol University), followed by a clinical fellowship in Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Shiley Eye Center, University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He is recognized for pioneering the "Sutured Flap" technique in Endoscopic DCR (scarless tear duct surgery), which achieves a 95-99% success rate. He received the APAO Achievement Award in 2017 and Best Lacrimal Paper and Video Awards at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) in 2016. He also serves as Director of the Oculoplastic Fellowship Program at Bumrungrad International Hospital.
Dr. Pinita Wanumkarng specializes in cataract and glaucoma surgery. She completed her medical degree at Ramathibodi Hospital (Mahidol University), her ophthalmology residency at Phramongkutklao Hospital, and a glaucoma fellowship at Ramathibodi Hospital. She holds board certifications in both ophthalmology and family medicine.
Dr. Kanjana Leelapatranurak is the clinic's third Bumrungrad-affiliated oculofacial plastic surgeon. Like Dr. Nattawut, she graduated with honors from Siriraj Hospital (Mahidol University) and completed a clinical fellowship in Orbital Surgery and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Diego (2006-2008). Her clinical focus areas include cosmetic eyelid and facial surgery, custom ocular prosthetics, and orbital surgery. She is available at At Eye Clinic on Fridays.
The clinic has a team of 9 ophthalmologists covering subspecialties including retina, cornea and refractive surgery, pediatric ophthalmology, and strabismus.
Technology and Equipment
At Eye Clinic was among the first centers in Thailand to adopt ophthalmic-specific Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) for dry eye treatment, beginning in 2019. The clinic uses Lumenis OptiLight and M22 IPL systems designed specifically for treating Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. Additional equipment includes Fotona SP Dynamis laser, LipiView tear film analysis, OCT imaging, and fundus photography.
