Your 12-18 Month Journey

Pre-Stage 1 (4-8 Weeks Before)

Virtual consultation through Konkai. Submit photos (chest for surgical planning, genital area, donor site assessment), testosterone timeline (minimum 12 months required), psychiatric evaluation, medical history. We can help you gather and prepare this documentation.

Requirements:

• 12 months continuous testosterone therapy
• Psychiatric evaluation diagnosing gender dysphoria

Stage 1: Phallus Construction (Week 1-4)

Week 2: Surgery day. Operating time 6-8 hours. Post-op: ICU first 24 hours (monitoring blood flow to new tissue), then private room. Urinary catheter for 2-3 weeks. Pain managed with IV medications first 48 hours, then oral. Limited mobility first week.

Week 2-4: Hospital stay 7-10 days depending on healing. Daily wound checks on phallus and donor site. Catheter care training. Light walking encouraged after day 5. Discharged to hotel when pain controlled, urinating (via catheter), walking independently.

Hotel recovery 2-3 weeks. Daily or every-other-day follow-up appointments. Donor site dressing changes. Swelling assessment. Catheter removed week 3-4 once urethral connection heals.

Flying home: Minimum 4 weeks post-op. Donor site needs time to heal, risk of blood clots on long flights while recovering from major surgery.

Between Stage 1 and Stage 2 (6-12 Months)
